Driving Directions



Up River Friends Meeting is located in Perquimans County, NC, about 12 miles from Hertford.  It is almost straight west of Elizabeth City, NC, and about an hour's drive from Hampton Roads, Virginia and the Outer Banks of North Carolina.

 

From Edenton (South)

Drive north on Highway 17, go through Hertford.  Turn left at the second left after the bridge over the Perquimans River (Wiggins Rd.).  Wiggins Road becomes Highway 37, Continue on Highway 37 north until you reach Sandy Cross Rd.  Turn right onto Sandy Cross Rd.  Continue on Sandy Cross Rd. until you reach Up River Rd.  Turn right onto Up River Rd.  The meetinghouse is approximately 3 miles on the left.

 

From Virginia (North)

Driving south on Highway 17 from Chesapeake, VA, turn right at the first stop light (Highway 158).  Take Highway 158 west approximately 3 miles untill you reach Turnpike Rd.  Turn left on Turnpike Rd. and travel south until you reach Up River Rd.  Turn left onto Up River Rd.  The meetinghouse is approximately half a mile on the right.
